Vodafone launches free TV service

January 15, 2017

Vodafone customers are to be given access to free internet TV.

The mobile operator has signed a deal with free net TV company Babelgum to provide ad-sponsored content as part of a six month trial.

Babelgum content is free to watch and offers clips from movies, as well as music, comedy and sports programmes.

Babelgum is currently available for users of Nokia N95, N96 and 6210 handsets only, and requires the download of a proprietary media browser.

Those wanting to watch current TV on their handsets have to sign up to Vodafone’s Rok TV service, which provides access to ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 from £3 per month.
